How to refer
Thank you for considering Hear.Think.Speak Audiology services for your patient and their family.
We are a paperless practice and welcome your referral via email at hello@hearthinkspeak.com.au or HealthLink with the EDI htsaudio.
We appreciate detailed referral information about your patient so that we have the deepest understanding of their individual needs.
Please indicate clearly on your referral which hearing and ear health assessments you require to support the medical management of your patient.
Medicare rebates are available to eligible patients. These are based on the Audiology services required during the appointment.
The Audiologist will contact you to seek your permission before completing any additional hearing assessments. Additional services may be clinically indicated based on your referral or they may become evident during the appointment. Please provide an updated referral to reflect your support for the completion of these additional Audiology services

This is a measure of a patient's middle ear health and will be reported to you in Jerger Type.

We will assess your patient's middle ear muscle reflex to loud sounds.

We perform this testing with patients who are at risk of hearing loss to determine outer hair cell function of the cochlea. It is extremely useful in verifying behavioural hearing test results and in determining the site of a hearing loss.

Depending on the age of the patient, we will perform Behavioural Observation Audiometry using noisemakers and live voice (BOA), Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA), Play Audiometry or Pure Tone Audiometry.

The Audiogram will only tell us the softest pure tone a patient can hear. Speech perception testing allows us to assess how the patient performs when words or sentences are presented to them at varying levels with and without competing background noise.
